Ryno Scholtz’s journey in criminal law started during 1993 when he enlisted in the South African Police Service. He did his training at Bishop Lavis training college in Cape Town before his first station at Randburg SAPS where he did crime prevention duties. Ryno was later transferred to Port Elizabeth where he worked at Flying Squad, Internal Affairs and Organised Crime.

While in the SAPS he completed his studies in Police Management and completed his LLB in 2004 at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

Ryno completed his articles of clerkship in 2006 and continued to practiced as a criminal law attorney until Ryno Scholtz Attorneys was established during 2011.

Ryno specialises in the defence of clients when prosecuted in all criminal matters and has 32 years experience in criminal law. He has been practising as an Attorney of the High Court as a criminal law expert for more than 20 years.
